THE ‘FROM GRANNY WITH LOVE’ SERIES

 

Nicole Hall's From Granny with Love series is just what is says it is: a loving series of letters written to her grandchildren, giving them the story of her Faith.   It is a highly personal account of the Catholic faith that she loved from her earliest childhood and to which she was faithful throughout her life.

Book 1:  From Granny with Love - is a comprehensive guide to Confession and Holy Communion written in an accessible, conversational style.   It includes explanations of language and illustrates the doctrinal topics with a variety of real life stories from the Catholic world that she so loved, as well as from the lives of the saints.

 

Book 2:  This World is not Enough – covers the Life of Jesus in the same refreshing style.   Starting with Jesus as a man, she retraces his Passion, Crucifixion and Resurrection and includes examples of his subsquent appreances.   Well known prayers and sayings of Jesus are followed by stories of the remarkable lives of St Catherine, St Therese, Padre Pio and Cardinal Newman.

 

Book 3:  Remember – You only Live Twice - treats the sacrament of Confirmation with a similar enthusiasm.   To do this thoroughly, Nicole explains the essential details of the Catholic faith as well as Our Lady’s role.   She includes the story of the Mass from the time of Jesus, through the persecution of Christians, to its worldwide celebration.   The book ends with stories of the power of prayer and provides a fascinating insight into the life of a Catholic growing up in the Forties and Fifties.
